We get requests for cigar and pipe tobacco donations every week from
Soldiers and Marines in Iraq & Afghanistan. We try and send
something to everyone who puts in a request. As well, we have had
people call up and offer to anonymously donate on their dime. You can
imagine how nice it is for the troops to sit and smoke a quality cigar,
especially one that was given to them
by someone from "home".
If you have ever been inspired to do something for the Soldiers, you
can contact us via phone or email to set up a donation. WE HAVE
RECENTLY HAD CUSTOMERS
SEND US CIGARS FROM THEIR HUMIDOR THEY ARE NOT GOING TO SMOKE.
A lot of times, the recipients will send us pictures of their company
or their smoking circle. We could pass these along to you, if you like.
We can certainly send along a message from you, as well, to go with
your donation.
We would like to thank those of you that have taken the time to
offer cigars, and money to buy cigars, to send to our military. It is a
beautiful thing to see people step up and do something that makes a
real difference for these courageous men and women.

NEW EVENTS IN THE WORKS!
Now
that we are back from our Rocky Patel Factory Trip, we have some new
exciting events planned. On Saturday, June 13th, we will host a
day-long La Flor Dominicana Block Party, with guests coming in from NY,
NJ, CA, WA and states in-between. We will be offering specials all day
on La Flor Dominicana products, including the newly released and very
limited Salomones, and the even more limited El Museo. These beauties
are made by Litto Gomez with extremely rare and aged tobaccos. Each box
is individually numbered, and Litto personally commissioned
Cuban-American artist Ruben Toledo to design the artwork on the bands
and the box. The proceeds of this cigar go to the El Barrio Museo in
Harlem, NY, a project near and dear to Litto's
heart.
Join us Saturday, June 13th, 2009, as we kick it Uptown-style, here
in-store and on the street. We'll be smoking and partying the day away
until the very last person gives in! For those of you staying late, we
are arranging a special dinner at Le Canard Enchaine, Kingston's
premier Zagat rated French restaurant.
This is an event you don't want to miss! Come out, have fun, meet Barry
Blonder, our La Flor rep, and take advantage of our La Flor Dominicana

Recent Event
Meet Don Pepin Garcia at Uptown Cigar Company on Tuesday,
May 5th at 1pm! This is your chance to meet THE premier Master Blender
of the cigar industry. Beginning his career at the age of 11 in his
uncle's factory in Cuba, Pepin later went on to become known as "the
Magician" throughout the cigar industry there. He fled Cuba in 2001 and
settled in Miami, and is regarded as one of the best blenders ever!
Come to Uptown Cigar on Tuesday and spend some time talking with him
and enjoying his fantastic smokes! More than likely, you already smoke
them. Not only does Don Pepin manufacture his own lines in Nicaragua
and Miami (including My Father, Blue Label, Black Label, JJ series, El
Rey de Los Habanos), he also blends and rolls cigars for Ashton's San
Cristobal and La Aroma de Cuba, Tatuaje, inlcuding La Riqueza and the
newly released Ambos Mundos, 601, Cubao, and several
