We get requests for cigar and pipe tobacco donations every week from
Soldiers and Marines in Iraq & Afghanistan. We try and send
something to everyone who puts in a request. As well, we have had
people call up and offer to anonymously donate on their dime. You can
imagine how nice it is for the troops to sit and smoke a quality cigar,
especially one that was given to them
by someone from "home".
If you have ever been inspired to do something for the Soldiers, you
can contact us via phone or email to set up a donation. WE HAVE
RECENTLY HAD CUSTOMERS
SEND US CIGARS FROM THEIR HUMIDOR THEY ARE NOT GOING TO SMOKE.
A lot of times, the recipients will send us pictures of their company
or their smoking circle. We could pass these along to you, if you like.
We can certainly send along a message from you, as well, to go with
your donation.
We would like to thank those of you that have taken the time to
offer cigars, and money to buy cigars, to send to our military. It is a
beautiful thing to see people step up and do something that makes a
real difference for these courageous men and women.

Next Month: Our Annual Hudson River Cruise!
Where
do I start this month? First off, Vegas was great. I was real excited
to attend my first RTDA (or IPCPR) show and finally meet some cigar
manufacturers that I have been looking forward to meeting for a long
time. We have taken in new brands and have expanded some old brands
that have been with us for a while. Most of these will be offered as
specials, so all of you can be introduced to these brands. In case
you're wondering, I tried EVERYTHING new before ordering. I know that
taste is subjective and some of you prefer mild, while others prefer
full-bodied cigars, but all the new cigars we are carrying are TOP
QUALITY smokes, regardless of what your palate prefers. My favorite has
to be the new lines in Joya de Nicaragua. We always carried the
full-bodied
Antano line, but I am real excited about the Celebracion line (medium
bodied). Both are very complex with great flavors that make an all
around, well-balanced cigar. For all you Nicaraguan smokers, this is a
MUST TRY brand. Also, the ACID 5 is being re-released by Drew Estate
cigars. These cigars were always their BEST seller, but the tobacco was
always very limited. After a long wait, Drew Estate will release these
new ACID 5s sometime at the end of August. Keep your eyes open to our
emails, and we will announce their arrivals as soon as we have more
info. Finally, we will be hosting our annual Hudson River Cruise on
September 14, 2008. This date falls on a Sunday, so I hope all of you
can make it. The cruise will feature Rocky Patel cigars, and Rocky
himself will be here, as well. As soon as we have more info on the
price and time of the event, we will email it to you. In
the meantime, if you'd like to sign up, please call or email me. Space
will be limited, and we will be selling a limited number of tickets,
until they are sold out. Tickets can be reserved in advance, and we
will contact you with the price once it is set. Again, please call or
